This is how content creators and influencers are making money in this economy. Part 1.
Learn how to monetize online.
About 7 years ago I remember when I first started creating content and feeling really good about it until I couldn’t afford to pay my bills on time.
I started sleeping on my friend’s couch to save money and I honestly didn’t know what to do next.
You’re probably asking: how did I get there?
I was only focusing on flipping clothes and writing reviews of products online. I was young, give me a break haha.
I didn't know that there were other ways to monetize as a creator. I was too stubborn to learn at the time.
Thank god I gained the courage to take risks and try new things for myself.
So for the month of November, you are finally going to learn all the different ways you can start making money as a content creator/influencer.
Buckle up, and be ready to take notes:
8 Different Ways To Make Money as an Influencer/Creator
1. Affiliate Marketing
2. UGC
3. Paid Social Collabs (Sponsorship/Partnerships)
4. Digital Products (eBooks, Guides, Templates, Courses)
5. Physical Products
6. Coaching/Mentorship
7. Subscription/Membership
8. App Monetization Programs
For today’s newsletter our only focus will be on Affiliate Marketing.
You’ve probably heard this term before, and if you didn’t here is a short definition:
When you have a specific code or link for a product and earn commission when someone from your audience buys the product (using your link/code).
These links are often known as affiliate links.
Next time you see a link in bio on Instagram, TikTok or a story post with a link attached to it … that’s probably an affiliate link.
Almost every creator/influencer you know including myself uses it.
Getting Started with Affiliate Marketing
My advice is to use one platform to store all your links in one place.
These platforms look like a mini website where people and brands can find your social media accounts, your media kit, digital product and so on.
I use → Stan and I recommend you do the same.
Stan offers a lot of support for creators including creating digital products, sending automated messages to your audience and so much more.
Where Do I find Affiliate Links
By asking brands to join their ambassador programs where they will give you an affiliate link
By joining a third party app for affiliate links
My favorite method is joining a third party app and here is why:
Imagine asking every single brand you work with to join their ambassador program.
It just sounds like a lot of work; I like doing everything in one place which is why I use these apps to help me out with that.
Down below is a short list of apps I use to get my affiliate links:
